Overview
A Certificate Level Physiotherapy Program is a foundational course designed to introduce students to the fundamental principles and practices of physiotherapy. It is an entry-level qualification in the field of physical therapy, suitable for individuals who want to start a career as a physiotherapy assistant or wish to gain basic knowledge and skills in the field of rehabilitation and physical therapy. This field has been helping the societies and communities for their fitness, treatment and rehabilitation and it has been creating job opportunities both in public and private sectors as well as creating self-employment opportunities immensely.
The program extends over three academic years. The first year course focuses on basic science and foundational subjects, the second year course focuses on theory and practical part of basic physiotherapy subject. Similarly, the third year comprises of the disciplinary subjects and application of learned skills and knowledge in clinical and community setting. They have career opportunities in hospitals, rehabilitation center, community rehabilitation center, etc. It is based on the code of conduct of Nepal Health professional Council.

Certification
• Students who have passed all the components of all subjects of all 3 years are considered to have successfully completed the course.
• Students who have successfully completed the course will be awarded with a degree of “Proficiency Certificate Level in Medical Science (Physiotherapy)”.
Career Opportunity
The graduates will be eligible for the position equivalent to Non-gazette 1st class (technical) as Physiotherapist Assistant or as prescribed by the Public Service Commission of Nepal and other related agencies. The main scope and working area of physiotherapist assistants are:
• Acute care centers of general hospitals
• Nursing homes or long term care facilities
• Community care
• Physiotherapy clinics
• Orthopedic clinics
• Rehabilitation and convalescent facilities
• Community and government health agencies
• Vocational rehabilitation programs
• Sport club
